The effect of leadership behavior on meeting effectiveness

Meetings are not always perceived as beneficial by employees. However, meetings are important for followers to execute their tasks because they provide a context in which information and other resources can be shared. This research examines whether meeting effectiveness can be explained by the leader behavior that is displayed. Leadership behaviors are studied because leaders often facilitate meetings and leaders can create the right meeting context, contributing to effective follower task execution. The results of this study show that there is a negative relationship between meeting effectiveness and the correcting type of leader behavior.
